Amsel is a piece for 14 winds and percussion. It’s an unusual piece taking on an unusual perspective – in “Amsel” (Blackbird), you don’t observe a bird from an outsider’s point of view but rather adopt its perspective, unfolding in exhilarating and monumental music.

The piece will consist of three movements, however, the remaining two are still in progress, but since the first movement needed to be ready for a concert in April 2025, I’m offering it for sale individually ahead of the full release. Buyers of the first movement will receive a significant discount on the complete edition once it becomes available, should they wish to own the full work.

Serpents of the Red Roof Valley is a slitheringly exciting piece for an unusual trio: Alto Saxophone, Piano and Percussion! While composing the piece, I had the image of a small town with cottages built with red tiled roofs in my mind’s eye. There was a viaduct bridge cutting through the town, on which steam trains traveled, but everything was inhabited and run by some kind of serpents. The percussion part is quite challenging and is intended to be performed by a single player.
