I composed the first version of “Gear World” in 2016 for Piano, Celesta, and String orchestra. It tells the story of a young engineer who dreamed of a world which he could change by will.
After this, there were two more versions – A version for clarinet choir first performedby the Clariphonics Clarinet Choir in 2020 and then finally this version for Harpsichordor Piano, after I bought my own Harpsichord for composing purposes.
This edition of “Gear World Variations” includes both the Harpsichord and the Piano version.

The engineer spent years inventing all kinds of machines, but he never forgot his dream of a world made of steel. He built and built, but never had the chance to construct his dream. When his last days were to come, he finished his latest invention which he called the metal heart. As he completed it and held it up in joy, he stumbled and dropped the metal heart into the depths of the world. He was shocked, furious at himself for losing his most precious invention. The heart fell until finally it was caught in the planet’s center. The ground started to crumble – The entire world set in motion.
