About the piece:
In 2024, the MOK Fulda – a free, public-access TV studio in Hessen – was shut down after 26 years of operation due to legal changes and a restructuring of the regulatory authority overseeing it. It had been a creative hub for people of all backgrounds and ages to learn, collaborate, and produce media. For me and many others, it was life-changing: a place of healing, discovery, and friendship. In its final days, I created a last broadcast – a collage of photographs telling the full story from the inception of the MOK Fulda to its closure, accompanied by this very piece.
The final image of that broadcast, and cover of this score, depicting a post-apocalyptic scene of a broken-down studio with cables clinging to old equipment like vines in a jungle, a terrifying soundscape of echoing screams from the breaking building and faint memories of what it once housed, was the last thing transmitted for several hours until the distributor shut down the broadcast forever.

Im Jahr 2024 wurde das MOK Fulda - ein offenes, frei zugängliches Fernsehstudio in Hessen - nach 26 Jahren Betrieb aufgrund rechtlicher Änderungen und einer Umstrukturierung der zuständigen Aufsichtsbehörde geschlossen. Es war ein kreativer Knotenpunkt für Menschen aller Hintergründe und jeden Alters, um zu lernen, zusammenzuarbeiten und Medien zu produzieren. Für mich und viele andere war die Einrichtung lebensverändernd: ein Ort der Heilung, Entdeckung und Freundschaft. In den letzten Tagen des MOK Fulda schuf ich eine letzte Sendung - eine Fotocollage, die die ganze Geschichte von den Anfängen bis zur Schließung des MOK Fulda erzählt, begleitet von genau diesem Stück.
Das letzte Bild dieser Sendung und das Titelbild dieser Ausgabe, das eine postapokalyptische Szene eines zerstörten Studios zeigt, in dem Kabel an alten Geräten hängen wie Lianen in einem Dschungel, eine beängstigende Geräuschkulisse aus widerhallenden Schreien aus dem zerstörten Gebäude und fernen Erinnerungen an das, was es einst beherbergte, war das letzte, was für mehrere Stunden übertragen wurde, bis der Rundfunkanbieter den Sender für immer abschaltete.
